My Impreza is due for replacement soon, and am considering one of the 2.5 leggy estates. My logic here is that they are:

• Cheap to buy compared to the competition (Im expecting to pay £10 - 12 k for a 53 plate 30,000 miler or newer)
• Cheaper to run than my Impreza
• Bigger than the Impreza (now with babbie etc)
• AWD (unlike most of the competition)
• Still relatively quick....
• Stuffed with a couple of cows worth of hide
• Lots of nice toys
• Pretty rare
• Still fugly

Anyone got any sensible alternatives which tick all the above boxes?

You will be able to get a late B4 / GTB for that sort of money, Twin Turbo as opposed to 2.5l.

Del Mar: Yes, I thought about it, but saving a few quid on insurance/fuel is one of the drivers here - had 3 years of impreza ownership now, and whilst I still love the kick in the back of the turbo, I rarely get to use it fully on my standard 40mph 10 mile commute....
