Value of a 99 T 406 TD 51K
My fathers car has just been written off. I was wondering if anyone knows of some car valuation sites to get a fair value to check he doesnt get ripped off by the insurance company.
Car details - 1999 T Reg Metallic silver Peugeot 406 Turbo diesel (non HDI), LX with air con, cd autochanger, 51K miles.
The insurance engineer was on the telephone today saying that the car was average miles? ( I thought 14k was average?) and that he thought a valuation of £2500 would be put on it, but looking on autotrader, to get an equivalent car you need at least £3000.
Anyone know of a site that actually states what average mileage is?
Also can you show me any sites that give you a valuation of a car?
Many thanks peeps,
Cal

The problem with parkers guide is that it's nowhere near any other guide on the planet, insurance companies use glasses and cap the same as traders and will offer you the trade value of the car. But on a more positive note the mileage is below average for the year.
Anyone thinking of using Parkers would be better off spending 3 quid in a wishing well to get similar money to what parkers recommends.
