Which nearly new car up to 11k?
Any suggestions on a new car? Here's the criteria:
Up to £11k (may be more if I get more for my Saab 9-5, but I doubt it)
No older than 1 year
40mpg+ unleaded / 45mpg+ diesel
bigger than a Golf
Comfy enough to do 25k miles per year
Reliable and cheap to maintain if it does go wrong.
Here's what I've thought of so far:
Vectra cdti
Mondeo TDci
Nissan Primera DCi
Laguna DCi
Citroen C5 HDi
Octavia diesel
Skoda Superb diesel
Out of that lot I'd prefer the Skoda Superb, though they are one of the more expensive in the list, though they do have variable servicing.
I have found a site www.new-car-discount.com where they are offering 06 reg Primera 138BHP Diesels for just over £12k. Anyone any experience of these?
PS. Anyone know of any dealers who are good for pre-reg deals? If I can hang on to March, I expect there'll be a few '55' pre-reg's about.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, I'd take the Superb. Its probably the most underated car I've driven. They really are quite awesome particularly on long journeys. The best thing about them is, nobody needs to be uncomfortable in them. On most cars you have the move the seat forward to give the rear seat passengers some knee room, not in the Superb. It sounds like a small thing, but its quite significant, as the driver will always be able to sit in the most comfortable position.
Cheap to service and maintain. Look for one in Comfort trim for a good toy count.

vari servicing is a load of bollox. i work at vw, just confuses every single customer. youll get a good car in the skoda. just will depricaite steadyly to basically **** all. so will all the others though. mondeo is a bland but good drivers car.
