Wasn't the 2.0 a 4 cylinder engine? Or am i thinking of a 1.8/1.9?

Wasn't aware of a 2.0 6 cyl. However, there was a 2.2 6 cylinder one. I drove all round NZ in one. Nice enough car although nowhere to put left leg when not on clutch, annoying if I had to own one. It's not the utlimate roadster by anymeans, and not brilliant in any respect but it's 'all right'. Given the context of when I drove one (2000 mile 'test drive' effectively ) I enjoyed it, but I couldn't live with one. Well, maybe the M version
It was the car that got me thinking of a roadster when I got home. I ended up with an S2000 which was a billion times better

Generally criticised for their outdated and therefore unpleasant suspension setup, as well as being a bit underpowered.
If you want a badge/cruiser, get it. Otherwise, go for an S2000.

I had one as a company car 2.2 6V. IMO the build quality was excellent, the cabin was a very nice place to be and the experience overall very nice...good roof, great laid out driving position, nice sound...if your over 6ft though your knees will be wrapped around the wheels but it didn't bother me !!
However, if it's a performance car you want look elsewhere. Whilst being rapid and capable they are simply not a performance car in the way a scooby or a 911 is...but the drive is compelling, solid, capable and enjoyable. - it's bit of californian fun Was great fun in the sun and the heater is easily powerful enough to allow you to drive with the roof down in all kinds of temperatures...
If it's a reliable, quality roadster you want - look nowhere else!
The best way to look at it is this : it is to the MGB Roadster what the Mini One is to the original Mini...
