Hi. My girlfriend is looking for a new car soon and I was wondering what peoples opinions are of these? I'm most interested in people who own or have driven them. Most comments are positive although I read on the what car website some readres comments that the seats are very uncomfortable?

Anyone own a new style LEON 140 tdi? Opinions on these too?

I have the Sport Hatch SRi with all the extras. Its the 150bhp 232LB/FT Turbo diesel one and in sport mode its quick enough to embarass a lot of supposedly faster cars

Good cars, handle well for a VX, only complaint is the seating... I am 6ft3 and you feel like you are sitting on it rather than in it. No matter how you adjust the seat its too damn high! Its quite comfortable, but ive got the heated leather seats so the standard ones might be different.
Brakes are over engineered on mine so im guessing they are the same as the VXR. It stops better than my GT-Four!

Sport Hatches are Still relatively rare on the roads so get plenty of looks

I work at vauxhalls in Luton in the fleet management part and get to drive all of the vauxhall range plus+ saab's and dawooo's (cheverolet), so i know a thing or to about the astra you are talking about.

NIce cars. It depends on what seats you have. If you have the 'design' model it has part fabric and leather side bolsters. they are a little hard, same as a wrx 03 seats. The sxi and sri seats are similar.

Sport hatch or the 5 door jobbie?
The engines are ok, but very slow for a CDTi. compared to the vectra/signum V6 CDTi.

They are very nice cars all the same. Nice touch plastics, they feel more solid than previos models astras.
