I have an aquantaince who owns one and his GT3 is a better quicker car on-track. Shows you how far technology has come in the last 10 or so years.

The F1 is still about as cutting edge as you can get when it comes to NA cars. The engine is a work of art and maybe one of the best V12s ever made. The F1 in standard trim will lap the ring in about 7-40 ish. The GT3, AFAIK, will do it in just under 8 mins - so 15 seconds behind. Now if its a GT3 RS thats a different story as they are rapido

I think if you took an F1 to the 'ring or any other track you'd have to take the right one to get the best times, i.e. not the standard road car but one of the 6 F1 LM's or one of the growing number of GTR versions that have been made road legal.

Dont know anyone with an F1.
Is his GT3 in standard trim? I still cant see how it can be quicker on track, like I said the ring lap times for the 2 cars (in standard road trim) show a difference of some 15 seconds per lap.

Have you seen the size of the side walls on the F1's tyres? It may be a monster in a straight line but it uses 15 year old technology. Its one thing for a test driver to put in a lap time at the ring but its another for your average or extra average driver to do it day on day.
