Question Ford Ranger?

My old man's after a Ford Ranger 2.5TD (DuratTorq engine).

It's going to be towing his caravan, but more importantly our race-car. (mk1 MR2). Are they any good?

Cheers,
Squizz

There are many better pickups available. The Ranger is old and slow, but it will pull a trailer easily. You don't mention your budget, but for used pickups look at the Nissan Pickup and Isuzu Rodeo instead. Or for a new pickup the latest Nissan Navara, its a monster, plus it has the highest power output at 174hp.

Test drove the new Navarra at the weekend, its one hell of an impressive beast, 400lbs torque, 174bhp and feels like a car to drive.

Would like to get one ASAP.

I think we'd all love a Navara!

His budget is about 11K.

They offered me a deal of £21,000.00, with half up front and the balance over 2years interest free. That was for an Outlaw spec double cab with Manual box.

Am seriously tempted at the moment, just want my current 4x4 to go pop!

my dad has a Ranger and he pulls big diggers and things like that as he is a builder. he has never said one bad thing about it and loves it lots, i have driven the L200 and i liked it but if you have big big legs then its a no i think for L200.
the Isuzu Rodeo i have also driven and do like.
i dont like Nissan so never driven one of them

Check out the Mazda B-series pickup ....it's basically the same as the Ranger.

Personally I'd go for a 3.0 Hi-lux

The Army have Rangers towing their recruiting vans. Yep, OK but the engines are not Ford. My local team have been waiting months on a blown engine under Warranty. Parts are a bitch to get!

They don't have a very good rep with the blokes!
