337 bhp Skoda 4x4
As it says
Ive just had Jabba Sports IHI kit fitted to my Octavia 4x4
Initially its given 337 bhp & 489 N/m Torque but it seems to be restricted at the top end, probably the Intercooler plumbing so that needs to be investigated & hopefully 350 + is achievable, whatever the figures say its quick, with very little lag & good mpg.
Just prooves what can be done relativly easily with a Skoda

EDIT2: found another online converter and 489NM comes out at 360lb/ft so ill leave it upto someone else to clarfiy.
Is the Skoda 4x4 originally the 180bhp engine with KO3s turbo or does it start life as a 150bhp engine?

there are 0.738ftlbs in 1 Nm.
490Nm = 360ftlbs Not bad at all for a 1.8. That's the same torque as my 9k Aero on original turbo but I can only make 310bhp.
What turbo do you use for that conversion? And what boost do you need to run? Skoda 4x4 weighs in at 1470kg (same as my Aero) but that's still going to really shift! Good stuff.

Yep IHI, went for that as its less laggy. Having done a few Cannonballs I know that big BHP dosent mean its quick, sometimes it just sounds good in the Pub. Its all about driveability which means good bhp but a wide powerband, low end grunt & as little lag as possible.
When my car was only mapped to 225 bhp on its first Cannonball in the mountains on the std Turbo I was backing off behind a 600+ bhp Supra coming out of corners on several occasions because it just could not get going quickly enough, eventually I got by with his co operation & then pulled away. Having said that it was kin Impressive on the Motorways.
We all know what a car manages on the Rollers wont mean its a driveable car or neccesarily that quick on the road, same with adding Nos, gives a hike in bhp but dosent make for an every day car
I believe the JBS car also has a heavily moded Engine to carry that bhp, Ive strengthened mine slightly as it will be running flat for many miles on the next Cannonball but those of you who know of Badger Bills Ibiza will know that was running over 350 bhp on std Internals & survived despite being tracked shall we say "fairly hard !"
Its now been "tweaked again" by Jabba Sport & is also over 400 bhp, hopefully its also been strengthened
Lastly 420 bhp & front wheel drive, Interesting !!
