Default Non-depreciating cars

Ok, maybe there aren't any. But was wondering what sort of car you could get in the 5-7K range that you could easily sell on after 3 years (or there abouts) without taking a large hit.

No "classics" i.e. Old cars as I'm not a mechanic. Should also be reliable, entertaining (or brisk, or both!)

Can't think of too many, MX5 (Series 1 or 2?) - any more out there?

IMO a well maintained 3dr Cosworth will retain almost all of the money you spend on it if you continue to look after it and should prove pretty reliable too. 8)

Trouble is the type of thing that is 'appreciating' is liable to cost lumps to maintain, unless theyre not driven - surely

Corrado VR6s seem to have plateaued at the mo.

I bought a 95M late 2002 for 6k and sold it March 04 for 5.8k. Good examples are still fetching 5k.

Depends how many miles you do. But in my experience a 944 S2 can make a pretty good daily drive. Like someone above mentioned, these older cars can cost a lot to run especially if you do 12k miles per year. If you budget 2k per year for a 944 S2 that would be about right. (included tyres servicing etc)

think that kinda thing is very dependant on whats the in thing at the time you sell.

22b's at the min hold there value (about 25k) but give it a few years and may not be as popular or maybe even more.

very much suply and demand.

Well maybe I was lucky but it never broke down and never had any problems whatsoever. These are Izuzu engined cars that are very reliable unlike its big brother.
