Default Just bought a BMW 320D se Touring

As the title says I've just bought the said motor, 2000 with 52,000 miles and have a couple of questions.
- Any links to good forums?
- What problems to check for?
- It has the wood trim inside & on the steering wheel, is it possible to change this for the alluminium?
- anymore info appreciated.

Also, can these be re-mapped/chipped similar to VAG engines?

Take a look at AMD tunings web site - they seem to be the boys when it comes to german diesel tuning / performance enhancement. Very reputable company and seem to be highly rated in previous threads.

Common problems include the fuel pump failing (the one under the passenger side door) and the turbo going pop after about 60k miles if it hasn't been looked after.

Ours (12,000 miles) has just had the fuel rail pressure sensor fail

Is the 2000MY a Rover engine? I think the engine changed in 2002 to a new BMW lump.

Not sure about any Rover engine, but pretty sure there are early ones (130bhp) and later ones (150bhp).

IIRC it was Rover that borrowed the 2.0d lump from BMW when they were under the brief ownership of BMW.

lol @ Slim_Boy_Fat...
