Never really gave them a thought till a friend got one. Fantastic looks and wow factor but to be honest, not 'that' impresive compared to the my (standardish) WRX Scoob. Different thing, granted, but another childhood dream shatered I love the cars looks and presence and would swap anyday!

Not that impressed?!
That car is a piece of engineering genius and history. With VTEC cars, you have to drive them for a while to appreciate them IMO.
You might not "feel" it going fast, but it would destroy most scoobs. My S2000 didnt fel quick coming from a 330bhp STi5, but it keeps up with some big stuff without shoving you in the back.
The main man Senna had a lot of input into the car too.
Also the non Targa is the one to have, but that does look amazing.
Id have one in a flash if it would fit in my garage!

Love NSX's. Had one back in March for a week. It was the same one that was on 5th Gear this week. As I said in another thread, it's re-kindled my desire to have one, and I may be doing something about that in the not too distant future.
However, when you're spending circa 40k on a car, there are lots of other things out there that appeal, i.e M3, 911 etc.
I have to say that the NSX was certainly quicker than my old STI5 TypeR, and certainly better to drive and it handled beautifully. It's a proper supercar that you can use everyday, which is what I'd be doing.
Any excuse to post a gratuitous pic of the beastie on my driveway!

Its a great car of course. But the definite plus point is that. Gordon Murray claims its the closest Prdouction car the the F1. In fact GM ran one for a few years whilst developing the F1!

I'm not a fan to be honest. Its supposed to be a supercar yet not many kids aspired to them like ferrari's, 911s, etc.
BTW, are you trying to grow that white scooby

I was never put off at its lack of "Italian badge" jap car's rarely get the accolades they deserve against that kind of field... Sod the image, with the looks and performance for that money - its awesome!

Lol, my car (the white Scoob) has been off the road for a few months now and so's my grasscutter The green ones not mine and I would have them big letters off in a flash if it was! Not sure on the NSX dimensions but it does fit nicely in a normal size garage. Mat, that red one looks a beauty!

Reliability is certainly a term one can associate with an NSX.
Hardly a supercar though, like a 911 C2/4, or BMW M3 - fast Coupes.
The quality is definitely there, its just a case of whether you like the car - I know I do!!

This is turning into an NSX owners club meet......http://www.nataz.pwp.blueyonder.co.u.../NSX/nsx12.jpg
Fantastic car, especially considering it remained virtually unchanged since 1991 barring some tweeks and upgrades.
It is teh only car I have ever driven that has come close to replicating the driving experience of a mid eighties 911 Porsche (before they went all soft). But without all the drawbacks...i.e easy clutch, easy steering, easy gearbox. In many respects it drives like a watered down old school 911.
But still has that fanatstic instant throttle response in any gear...you don't even need to to wait for the VTEC or constantly mess around to make sure your in the right gear (unlike every other Vetec Honda out there). Anyone can say a Subaru, evo or anyother Turbos rice rocket is faster 0-60 BUT and it's abig but. Figures miss out a hell of alot...they will never ever have that throttle response or be so flexible or have that "feel" (completely missing in scoobs) and have such a wide usable powerband 50-150 and they will embarass most pent up family saloons with turbos strapped on in the twisties given that the driver has enough bottle
The noise is almost like an old 911...even the tappets! Just without the whine of the cooling fan, or the rattles thumps and shakes of the trim. That is until you go past 5000rpm and it just sounds mental.
If anything, the car is too perfect. If you watched 5th gear, I would agree with Tiff it is too perfect in some respects. (ignore the other say its like a Civic....complete utter tosh...you can't powerslide a civic and nothing happens until you hit that Vetec, nothing like an NSX ).
It rides and drives so well, and so is so well mannered, not being anywhere near as jiggly or fidgity as my classic scoob (on 17"s ). If anything, to drive it feels softer sprung...that is until you bounce the suspension and relise it is absolutely rock solid incomparison. Everyday driving is a joy, except that in this day and age it is just too fast and responsive, and too good handling to push it hard on UK roads in this age of motorist persecution.
Although that doesn't always stop me.

(please excuse my collegue's verbal diarrhea )
As a note, from the first post, I just noticed it was an auto version, which sadly looses alot of sparkle from the aceleration (only 4 gears). I belive later versions didn't benefit from the upgrade to a 3.2 litre engine either (Btw if he ever notices any bad handling issues...blame the wheel tyre combo- common malpractice as some owners get told that the original tyres are unavailable by their tyre dealers or are highly exepensive as they charge RRP...truth is they are obtainabale and can be supplied for £120(ish) per corner )

The first 900 or so had the suspension settings that were suggested by Senna. For sure, it could do with a bit more power, but I understand 500 bhp is available using a supercharger. There's a big tuning scene for these in the USA where they sold much better than they did here. Remember that the Porsche 930 turbo only had 300 bhp, and the NSX is aluminium so pretty light.
