RS6 Prices
Was having a quick look on the trader but couldnt find much
I have got between 25k - 30k to spend shortly & would like to buy a decent rocketship, but with loads of room for prams & the rest of the gumph that goes with a newborn.
So going to get rid of the TT & keep the C220 Cdi for work
Could i get an RS6 for that kind of money ?? Or is there anything else that could be worth a look at
I know i might have asked this question a few times but its now getting close to the date & i have to do something quick
Cheers

For the money, you could do a lot worse than a DMS chipped 535d estate. 350bhp, 500lb ft, 500 mile range, 35mpg (unless you're completely caning it).
£30k will get you an 04 plate from a BMW dealer with 2 years of warranty remaining. £700 will sort out the upgrade.
Oh, and it's silly fast - I really couldn't tell the difference between an RS6 and the (admittedly upgraded) 535d. Except one does 16mpg and you have to stop for fuel every 200 miles, which is a pain.

I think rs6's start at about 37k. there is the rs4, a good one could be had for 24k. But be prepared to fill the car about 1.5 time (100 litres) a week. I am!!!!! The 530d with chip upgrade is fun and a loader too. The shape kinda grows on you, look really nice with some hamann kit.

Agree with the above comments, you are looking at c. £37k for an Avant RS6 on a 52-ish plate with average miles.
You could get a RS4, or as someone has sugegsted a chipped 535d Sport touring, Great cars and rather rapid.
Or what about an S6?

I can get an M Sport 535d on an 05 with 8k for around 35k
I am going to pop in tonight & have a look, only thing that would put me off is if it has got wood effect
Trying to work out figures at the moment, as i could get rid of both cars & keep the spare cash for an VIII at the turn off the year

Test drove the 535d last night
All i can say is " IMMENSE ", for a car that size, it had amazing torque & power, went up the auto box like a sharp knife going through butter
Keeping a level head at the moment though as i have to sell the TT private first & use the C Class as a trade in.
Dealer was more than happy for me to take it this weekend for an extended test drive & see how i get on with it, so might take him up on it.

The 535d is 275bhp standard - can you really get 350bhp from 'just a chip' 325bhp I'd believe but 75bhp seems like a whopping gain!
BWM are going to be in real trouble when they put that engine in the 3-series. Who'd buy an M3 when you can get a 335d + £700 and blow the back doors off it?

You can DMS are if anything renowned for conservatism - they claim 343hp or so, but I've seen a guy's rolling road printout showing 360.
Either way, you're knocking on the door of 5.5 0-60
