My dad had a Ghia X V6 (exactly the same but different wheels and full leather interior) and it was pretty quick for a family estate!

I had one a couple of years ago , and put a pipercross induction kit on it , which made a lovely sound on exellerating , but not any noticable power gains.
Cost about £70 and took me about 15 mins to fit.
I dont think there is much you can do to tune them other than a performance exhaust and Bluefin from superchip which may add a few horses.
Hope this helps
Paul.

Strangely there seems to a big hole in the market for decent upgrades on these engines.....and they need it. Cat back exhaust don't do anything for power, but they make a nice noise
I have heard you can fit decatted or performance cat exhaust headers (stock very restrictive from the looks of them) - but they are for a Ford Contour IIRC which may mean clearance issues and you'll have to import them from the USA
Perhaps an idea to give noble a call and ask where they get their bits from for their engines

First upgrade he should do is put on a metal impellared water pump as the stock plastic impellared ones are notorious for disintegrating. No water, no cooling and KABOOM!
