Pug 306 1.9 TD
Anyone had or got one of these?
Problems encountered?
Just picked one up, not the best but has some potential (and was dirt cheap) but been a bit of a workhorse.
Just need to know the pro's and con's of the engine really, have had a few petrol 306's so this is my first TD 306 (running 2 306's at the moment).

what year is it? they seem to be prone to headgaskets and heater matrixs done these on mine just waiting for the other halfs to go but some, i think it's the phase 2 you have to go by chassis no. though to be sure have a problem with the engines blowing big style and i mean rod through block sort of thing.

i had a N reg D turbo a few years ago and it was a great little car, group 5 insurance, quite quick and averaged out about 45/50 mpg on a run, heater matrix went on the one i had but other than that it was good.

I had a V-Reg Hdi - great car, cheap to run, low maintenance but with plenty of power (well....till I got the scoob!)
A friend had the same car and both required a new Cat. Engine was solid though - mine had only done 60k - his has now done 100+ and and is still running great.
Despite having the scooby, I still miss that car. Going to make a cheeky offer to buy my mates'
