For a start don't spend £27K on one, even when they were still available new*, dealers were selling them for under £24K. You could pick up a year old car for under or around £20K, most will have stupidly low mileage, 4-5000 etc. Can't vouch for any other part of the car as I haven't driven one, just thought about buying one last year.
*They are no longer available to order new from the factory, only remaining dealer stock is available.

Never owned, been in or driven one but apparently the MKII's are MUCH better than the MKI's.
Have more power and are less twitchy as well as other stuff that is imporved i think. Im sure someone who knows a bit about them can tell you more.
Great looking cars as well 8)

The only comment I can make is that I went through 'Brunchen' backwards on the nurburgring in one due to it snap oversteering on the driver. It was the second time in a lap it had done it.
Yes it was a Mk2, infact it was renault UK's press car.
I'm quite glad it did it as it knocked it off my cars I might buy list

The Mk2 is highly recommended
I've had mine for a few months now.
Rare, Quick, Handles well, Sounds good, Great Brakes, Nice 6 speed Gearbox, Looks ACE!
All the toys too if you like that sort of thing!
Nice steering feel, but rack is too slow IMO.
**** turning circle tho.

I'd not pay 20K for one though. Shop around. Mk2's can be found for more reasonable money!

Doesn't handle like a Subaru, doesn't perform like a Subaru, as I have said before on previous posts, the missus wanted it and after all she is the one with the money, I thought she was so wrong........but she was so RIGHT.
Still running it in so haven't really opened it up yet. It is loads of fun, totally different drive, every time you put it into a corner you think you're gonna die! Handles very similar to the 911 we used to have, gets more looks than any other car we have had.
If you like driving.........your'e gonna like this

Gary - the car you went in wasn't a shocking metalic green/yellow colour?
They are such an event to drive - you get so many looks and the noise they make is fantastic - even better with a decent aftermarket exhaust.
Incidently, there is a buyers guide to the V6 in this months (Sept) issue of Car
