Default Xsara VTS - Advice needed

A question for all the knowledgable people here,
A mate of mine has just bought a 98 Xsara VTS, but is having a problem. When he goes above 60 or so he gets a bad vibration through the car, he has had the car tracked and has had all 4 wheels balanced and switched around. There are no buckles in the wheels(has been checked)
Can anyone shed some light on this? As far as I know there is a rear torsion beam on those cars, is it possible to adjust them to such an extent that there is no play in the suspension and might be causing this problem?
Cheers.

wheel bearing about to disintegrate?

the torsion bars don't normally loosen - they seize if anything...

my suggestion is take it for an MOT - it's a cheap way of having every bush, damper, balljoint, and everything else checked.

There is certainly no grinding sound like the wheel bearing is gone, I've had wheel bearings go in previous cars and never experienced vibration like this.

Could possibly be the brakes or the handbrake...

Could be one or a combination of the following...
  • bottom ball joint
  • track rod end
  • front wishbone bushes
  • rear beam mounts
  • driveshaft/cv

any of which would fail an MOT...
