The official Mid-Life Crisis car.......
BMW Z4 2.5/3.0
Its only 11:30am and I've seen the 4th one drive past with the roof down, driven by a balding/greying middle aged man and some cheesy love hits of the 70's playing on the CD player ranging from the Drifters to Engelbert Humperdinck.
LMAO

I have to say, each to their own and i hope to god i dont end up looking like that with loads of kids takin the pi55 as i drive down the street.
I dont think i will after seeing a bloke in his late 50's driving in the rain in February near me in his yellow megane convertable, his elbow strewn over the door and Abba tunes pounding out the cd. He has shades on but had to keep taking them off because they were wet with the rain
The fact that this was a busy Saturday afternoon traffic jam in a town centre added to the OMG'ness

Passed a convoy of about 20 Z3 / Z4's last year which had just come over Wrynose / Hardknott Passes - but I don't think is was the road that gave them the grey hair...

What about young hereditary grey haired drivers?
Who gives a flying fek what someone chooses to buy? If you were middle aged and had the chance to buy something like that, I'm sure you'd go for the Vectra or Passat
Still, much better to be seen in a stickered, loud exhaust, picnic table spoiler chavmobile

what a load of crap you lot spout.
what happens when you get old and you want to buy a car you like and listen to music you like?
The answer, exactly this thread. You will be slagged off by your children's friends on some internet board for being a sad old w@nker going through a midlife crisis.
as has been said before, the vast majority of people will laugh at you for you ugly cars with gold wheels and big sad spoilers. They will say that you could have bought something decent looking, and you will laugh at them safe in the knowledge that they don't know their cars.
What makes balding middle aged man in z4 any different from you?

Most of my hair is still in place and its original colour, and I was at the REM gig at Balloch on Saturday and thought the Zutons were superb

Ohh ffs sake can't anyone take a bit of a joke!! I'm just observing current trends round here since the sun came out
South of France, Califiornia, Australia yes, but not in the UK.
And while I'm at it what is it with British men and the need to take their shirts off in the city and walk down the street with their pasty white bodies? (Usually half burnt already)

I know...just there is a huge influx of large engined z4's that have popped up round here all driven by the same genre of people. In comparison to MX5s, S2000s and yellow megans cabriolets
A bit like skinheads usually drive scoobies
Can't answer why men seem intent at stripping off in your local high street...I get enough flack for just wearing a pair of shorts. With screams ranging from "look it's a wookie" to "my god man, put them away"

I'll add a Caterfield to your list of vintage cars, and an Ariel Atom.
