Hmmm, he seemed to be taking it very easy, his first time out?
Shame not to hear more of what is frankly one of the best intake / exhaust notes out there!

Ahhhh.
My favourite car and my favourite track, that's why I was slightly disappointed, certainly no disrespect that he was driving Miss Daisy

It certainly usually laps Oulton quicker than any ppp'd STi I've ever seen, and its even a little quicker round there than my standard wagon

We were just pottering round on that run... certainly not my first time, done over 1,000 laps in the car alone
The sound is atrocious too, which is a shame...

Normally get round in around 1m58s, subject to traffic, on semi-slicks. It's a shame that this video is sooo boring
The sound is all mashed up too - notice how it's incredibly quiet then suddenly very loud... the mic' was in the engine bay too!!

Out of interest how hard are you pushing to get a 1.58? Only ask as I've done a 2.02 in my scooby on toyo proxes (bugeye wrx, 285bhp/285lbft, suspension / antiroll / geometry / strut braces, lightweight wheels) and I expected the csl to be a LOT faster?
(Please note, this is *not* a 'scooby is faster than a csl thread!!!! This is a genuine enquiry as I'm looking to actually get a CSL and it will spend a lot of time on track)
Cheers

How hard was I pushing? Well at the time (May last year) I thought I was pushing pretty hard, but I've learnt a lot since then.
I use a DL1 data logger at most events, so I can analyse the results and compare when I get home.
Of the logs I've done since I've never beaten that time over a single lap, but I have been faster in certain sectors and/or corners. Trackdays can of course be difficult - I like to be courteous to everyone else on the day, so traffic and/or weather usually transpires against you.
I think that 1m55s is achievable by me, IF I can string a perfect lap together in perfect conditions. I'm no racing driver, just someone who's pottered round for a few years!
I still have a run which includes a 1m59s in my DL1 collection - if you'd like to see it to compare with your own (if you have any) then you'd be welcome to it.
Finally, if you haven't already, check out www.bm3w.co.uk - loads of CSL owners and you'll get all the information you'll ever need
Cheers, Elliot.

Here is one of mine:

Second lap was a 2.15ish but I got baulked by the Porsche through the chicane after the Shell hairpin, and the rest of the lap wasn't flat-out. The lap after was the 2.02 (you can see the difference in speed before it cuts out) but I didn't digitise it at the time as I was just showing the laps where I passed the Porker (yes, I know he wasn't flat out )
I will digitise the other laps and also some footage from coombe, silverstone and donny sometime soon, although I am away now in America for 10 days.
very much looking forward to joining the CSL brigade!

It wasn't *that* bad
Worth the download just to hear how savage the intake is at W.O.T
I look forward to seeing some 'proper' laps soon tho
And maybe even joining you in a few later this year
