I asked the same question about 3 weeks ago and only got one reply....I don't think many people have owned one which either means:-

a) Its so bad they wouldn't waste their money
b) They didn't like the potential assumption they were a 'scissormeister' ehehehe
c) People wanted something more Arghhh arghhhh in yer face Sti/Evo-tastic like

It does 0 - 100 in M3 kinda time so its surely gotta put a bit of a on the
old mush ?

Could be that the average SLK driver didnt want 350 bhp, the 197 was more than adequate for trips to John Lewis and for lunch at a bistro, used to be one on the end of our road (the AMG one), I decided it was cool because it was such a beast that looked like a girly car, the owner sold it and bought a 911 and now one of the new Bentleys.

F*ckin awesome. Don't expect BMW handling but it is a very rapid car that stops and goes and to a point turns very well. I had a 230K SLK modified to 255bhp.

Throw a set of Carlsson shocks and springs on and it makes this motor superb.

Was considering one of these to replace my 230k SLK but fancied a change so got an XKR Convertible instead. Totally different motor but I like it
