Two more turbos on the drive...
Both inside this :
This replaced the Carrera C2.
Six speed manual, sat-nav, phone, aero-pack (front lip and rear spoiler)
A suitable one-word description would be "Bonkers".
The WRX PPP feels slow after driving this! The amount of pull in 6th gear at 90+ is awesome, it just keeps accelerating.
I'll try to take some arty shots this week, I'm searching for a location with a skip in the background

Just been out for a blast a lunchtime . It is now only a matter of time before I get points
The last one was Arctic silver, this one is Polar Silver (there is a very slight hint of blue compared to plain silver). It certainly does seem to be to most popular colour for 911s nowadays.

What do you think about the difference in comparision to C2.
Is the Turbo as manic as they say, hopefully will replace the M5 for it soon.
I have only raced one on the motorway and that was from 80-130 and it did not pull away from the M5 at all. I just hope the guy did not put his foot down properly.
I am sure 0-60,0-100 must be damn good. Oh and the fact that you can extract silly powers from the turbo. AmD are quite a good tuner for them.

The German car makers are like Eskimos, i.e. the Eskimos have numerous words for snow and the Germans do the same with Silver paint !
But that is a very nice car, even if it were painted turd brown !

Nice.....not all are silver - mine is Seal grey !
Get yourself down to DMS - hand over £2k & you will have nearly 500bhp & almost as much torque. My mate just had his done & while the standard car is fast as f*ck...his one now distorts space & time & makes mine feel like a fiesta !

The car is 420 as standard, the extra 100 horses over the 996 C2 are very noticible. Like any turbo car, there is a *slight* pause before the full torque arrives. I would say the C2 had a crisper throttle response because of this.

Yeh I agree, slight lag, but you do get used to it & learn to "drive" around it. I also find that the engine isn't quite as flexible as a C2 (I had a C2 & a C4S before the turbo) in those cars you could leave it in 6th all day & drive around, the Turbo doesn't like that ! Having said that - the engine (for a turbo) is THE most flexible & is the best insatlled turbo set-up I have ever driven - the car drives almost like a NA car.
DMS do not replace the turbo's, they just tinker with the ECU.
The X50 raises power output to 331 kW (450 bhp). Includes modified (larger) turbochargers, intercoolers, ECU and gearbox.
The standard Turbo's run at around 0.8 bar, though are tested & can happily run at anything up to 1.6 bar unless they are completely abused.
Porsche really do over-engineer these cars.

Budget for replacing the chin spoiler at least once a year. Had mine 8 months & replaced it twice already...multi-story car parks are a pain.
Worth joining the Porsche Owners Club too, if only for the 10% discount on parts.....how does £150 for a battery grab you !

I have been planning routes carefully to avoid speed bumps etc, it does seem to be very slightly lower than the Scott Lowe splitter on the WRX.
Rumplestiltskin, How much does the front lip cost on its own?

Its about £163 roughly so not too bad. Fitting is actually an easy DIY job, just a few bolts.
Yours I notice is painted, which adds to the cost of replacing. Mine is just the "as it comes" plastic. I thought about the painted one but figured I would keep bashing it & knocking the paint off so havn't bothered.
