Default Just got myself one of these - another ebay gem!

Just picked up a 1989(G) Merc 420SE.

She's got all the toys, and really nice dark blue leather interior.

Big miles at 220k but she comes with a full MB service history right up to 205000 miles!

I''ve even got the original bill of sale - a good night out off £40,000 - a lot of dosh today, never mind 1989.

I rather enjoyed the 40 mile trip home in her after getting her this afternoon. You can't beat the roar of that big V8! The bloke I got it from even put £30 of petrol in it for me because, his words 'there's nothing worse than buying a car that's got the empty light on'. LOL.

A bit of rust around a couple of the arches (superficial), but inside it's like new and I paid **** all for it . 6 month's T&T, too

How I love ebay

I've got 3 at present, and a Jag and a Seat Ibiza. Getting rid of the Jag and another Merc shortly. Might flog this one on too.

Let's just say I paid about the same for her as one of the 33 services she's had.

My best buy so far!! It's like driving an armchair and takes you to silly speeds without you realising it.

You REALY need to stop doing this. I'm so tempted to a big Merc to smoke aroung in. Might keep the Silvia for the summer then get a big barge with heated seats for he winter...

This one was too good and too cheap to refuse! It's like new inside and not that bad on juice when compared to the 6cyl mercs - mid 20s on a run.

Even with all its miles it still feels tight - there's not even a creak or a rattle. The only noise you can hear when at speed is the rumble of the V8 and a bit of wind noise through a perished window seal.

Insurance isn't an issue - takes a 30 second call or I transfer online. I buy a car as I sell a car so just change the details over.

Just had a look at the full listing -- it looks fully sorted! I reckon a valet, a quick touch-in and a private plate would make it look showroom fresh.
