Got a great japanese vid of one of these against a 360 CS, 996 Turbo, both Lambo's, M3 CSL and a couple of other monsters and the NSX lead the race for about 3 out of 4 laps and was pipped by the Murcielago and Galardo on the final straight. So i think the balance, breaks, steering and power are just about perfect !

Will do, don't know why I didn't think of that sooner actually.
Probably won't be today, got a silly workload this week with the launch of the new company!

I didn't know it was the old Type R. No i don't think i would spend lots of £££ on one of those.
This is what i thought you meant, and this is what i meant when i said i saw a vid of one abusing some big players in "super car" league..........
Trying hard to find that movie.

If you can live without the carbon fibre tit-bits how about a normal NSX for less than £20K??
Or a later 3.2 for circa £25K. Quite a few floating aroundon Autotrader at the moment
Don't think the performance specs are wildly different to the R either

Original Type R was a very rare special edition, if I remember correctly. Rock-hard suspension compared to the standard one, but the power output isn't much different.
The more recent one is more of a series production car, although for all they make it might as well be a special edition too.
As Honda own the Suzuka circuit, they use them as Marshall's cars for the Japanese Grand Prix (in addition to the official Merc's). The local head Marshall likes to lap particularly quickly on his sorties, sometimes a tad sideways. Very entertaining. Sometimes more so than the actual Grand Prix.
