Default Buying Insurance for a testdrive!?

Hi,

Went to a Mitsubishi dealer today to enquire about a test drive in an Evo to be told 'you need to arrange your own insurance to drive one on demo, this is the company policy on just the Evo range'.

Is this common place with all Mit****bushi dealerships?

Did the fact I went dressed like a chav hinder my chances of a test drive?

Would it have help if I'd of parked the scoob in front of the showroom instead of round the corner out of sight?

Comments appreciated

Frank

I didn't have to arrange my own insurance, but drove a deristricted mr330 or 340 or whatever it is and had to sign a mitsu document to agree to a £3000 excess...lol

I still didn't drive it very carefully after the first 5 minutes.... Well, ya got to try it out haven't you..?

They didn't have a 260 to try at the time so they let me out in that one. Still bought a WRX though. Miles more practical as an everyday car I thought.

Nige.

Test drove an FQ300 back in november and didn't get asked to do either of the above.

Did park the scoob outside the front door though.

U can usually get it added to policy for day as an additional car as it isn't privately owned.
