I have a good idea who's house the car came from but with no evidence what can I do?? I've asked them and they said it wasn't anything to do with them but i don't believe them!! the car reversed off there bloody drive!!..

Well no concelation but the exact same thing happened to me however the person involved knocked on my door and admitted her mistake, an expensive mistake but it just shows there are good and bad eggs out there.

The thing that pi$$es me off is that I've done nothing wrong but I'm the one having to shell out the money for the repairs!!.. Its just sooo annoying!!.. Your lucky to have someone knock on your door and admit to it!!.. Its what I would do!!.. They have made such a bloody mess!!.. how can they sleep at night!!??..

Is it obvious that it was a certain car that is at this house? Do you still have the broken reflector? Does it match up with theirs?

Was your car parked on a public highway?

If so start kicking up a fuss, mention you have a witness walking the dog (just use a mate) etc. If you're going to use the insurance Co tell them the details of the car and get their advice, especially if you have legal cover.

I was once in a garage and saw a person leaving the workshop area in their car catching the corner of my parked car. Went in and gave the man behind the counter the car details and asked if he could provide the owners name and address, he refused to give any details and said they have not had such a car in for work. While having a 10 minute row the car returned and it was the ar$e behind the counters business partner !!!!!!!!!!!!

On the sunday I went over to the suspects house and asked the guy that lives there if he knew anything, he turned around and said I have been away and have only just got back, he then said I know that there was loads of cars round at my house yesterday and it could have been one of them. I then asked him if he could find out for me. I saw him yesterday and I asked him again and he just said sorry not got round to asking yet, I'll find out this week!! How rude and ignorant is that!!??..

My car was parked on my road on the side of the pavement directly infront of suspects house!!..

You're asking a lot there I think. Ok, so most of the posters on here *would* fess up if they did similar but a million people wouldn't. My mate backed out of my parents' drive when we were both about 17 with the usual TPFT insurance with no no-claims. He shot out of the drive and T-boned a brand new (at the time) F reg Fiesta parked on the other side of the road. This was at about midnight and the noise seemed like an explosion in the silence. No lights came on and no one came running out so he pelted off down the road.

Ok, now it would be a different story. We've all grown up and take our responsibilities more seriously. We have better insurance, protected no-claims and realise that that is what insurance is for. Unfortunately while kids are charged 2 grand to drive a 1.2 Corsa there's always gonna be those who don't want to bump up their premiums.

Sorry it's happened to you. I had my car vandalised recently to the tune of £1500 and although I knew who'd done it the CPS refused to follow it up. So I feel the injustice for you. I just don't think that in this "I'm alright Jack" world you should be so surprised.

Well there is nothing I can do, just have to get on with it!! Just really angry at what its gonna cost me when I haven't done nothing wrong and that there are some selfish people in the world!!..

Pay for the repairs, work out being cheaper in the long run!! Don't want to loose my no claims and I don't want my insurance to go up!!

This wasn't just a little dent, the whole door is nackerd!! Got such a big dent in it and the amount of scratches on the door is unreal!! Its cracked on the frame of the door or something. The guy from the garage said it would cost more money and take more time to get it repaired because of how its folded!! so been told it would be cheaper to get a new door!!..

So many to$$er's out there!!..

As I said above it just pi$$es me off because i'm having to pay for somebody else's stupidity!!..

Thing is I don't really want to spend any money on the car seen as I want to get rid of it!!..but going to have to!!

I think that is what i'll end up doing though, going to the breakers yard and picking up a door there..I just don't want to part with any of my money for something I've not done..I want to get rid of the thing, not spend money on it..
