Default Mitsi EVO III, Opinion Please?

Hi Gang,

Have any of you had any experience with the Mitsubishi Evolution III?
I am currently waiting on a nice one to come up because I fancied something a little different.

Last year I had a STI V-ltd which was very nice and i loved every minute of it but this year there are quite a few Scoobys in my area and I like to stand out from the crowd.

Can any of you guru's comment on the mitsi or on the differances i should expect between the two cars.

Thanks in advance
Steve

more or less is the reason I bought a Evo III.

Most my friends have either a scoob/pulsar/gt4 etc and wanted something a little differant.

Wanted something quick so did a bit of reading and found out the Evo 3's where pretty quick with a 13 sec 0-100 book figure.

Looks not to everyones taste though.

Pretty crap for long distance driving as it has gearing pretty much the same as my friends Type R scoob. 5k revs@100 in top.

Bad points

Gear change not as smooth as a scoob
No scooby burble
poor motorway cruiser
Brakes

Good points.

pretty unbreakable
0-100 and anything between it rocks
more tail happy than the 50/50 suggests
4G63= massive amount of tuning options at pretty cheap prices
Very easy to work on
Nice quick steering rack.

I have treated mine pretty rough over 2 years.Good thrashing most days and all it has needed is normal service stuff like oil changes.

heres a picture.Yellow is a great colour for the 3's

EvoCarl,

Great info thanks. Sounds like you enjoy your car!

Other than the brakes is pretty much what I was expecting, Thought they would be ok. Do you know of any big brake kits for the III that i could start saving for?

I like the yellow but I think i'm looking for a black one with white compomotive MO's.

Cheers
Steve.

Roll on the III.

EvoCarl, that's a very tidy looking car mate. Less than 5k? That's just rude
