Thumbs up

nice one. i don't have the tourer but the saloon type s and have to say its a cracking car (good looking too imo). much better than the ctr i had previously although its not as raw. i bought it over and above the saab 9-3 aero, audi a4, merc c230 etc as its the better drivers car despite it lacking slightly in the prestige department.

don't know about running in (stick to the handbook suggestion i guess) but if you're after mods i can't recommend the comptech short shifter and rear swaybar enough. great mods and they don't cost the earth either. imo the rear sway bar transforms the handling and only costs £100.

just out of interest did you opt for the a-spec suspension and 17" alloys??

Got to say I love the car.... haven't got it yet mind will be delivered next week.....

thanks for the tuning advice will look into it!

It has the sport pack suspension option and 17" tungsten grey alloys.

I live in Switzerland and are options are probably different....

It really does feel quality..... I'm well chuffed,

only paid 15.5 K!!!!!! Result!

Plums...

that's a bloody good price. as long as you have the 190ps 2.4 i-vtec and the sports suspension then that's just fine

definitely a quality car but sadly it's not a popular choice here for some reason - despite it recieving excellent reviews all round. anyways here' mine in all it's glory

Played up at the dealership saying we really wanted a Stream ( but I knew they didn't stock them any more ...) and that we needed a car with lot's of loading space....

Dealer offered us tourer Type S with 16% off and a few toys..

Musn't grumble....

Plums.....

When you refer to the A-spec suspension is that the kit Honda have in the accessories part of their web site, £485 fitted I think they quote and how does it compare to the standard type-s saloon setup ?

Mark.
yup. its the £485 option. i can't really tell you how it compares as mine hasn't got it fitted but by all accounts the ride quality does not suffer but the body roll is near eliminated. understeer is reduced and handling in general is much improved so well worth the ££'s.

tbh i couldn't afford the upgrade so went for the comptech rear swaybar (£98 shipped) which does wonders with the oversteer. just trying to save up for the a-spec now to get rid of the body roll and sharpen the front end up.

I'm currently looking at possibly getting a type-s after reading lots of good reviews. Any recommendations on spec to look for as I will probably be buying nearly new.

03-CTR - Where are the mods you mention above available from? (nice wheel/car combo btw)

Ah ignore above as you just posted the reply at the same time I posted the questions!

One thing though does the ATS come with sports suspension as standard or is it an option?

thanks beefy

the spec doesn't change too much but just make sure you pick one up with the 17" alloys and sports suspension as a minimum. i regret not getting one with the suspension (as its now going to cost me £485) but then i paid £12,750 for an 03 with 20k on the clock which is .

all of my mods came from the states as there's no tuning scene here really. you can get a few bits from funkyproduct.co.uk like the injen cai but anything else is going to be difficult. anyways the guy that stocks the bits is an acura/comptech dealer and has an ebay store. shipping costs are amazing so comptech parts end up a real bargain (and esp as the $ is poor at the mo).

if you're interested you can find out more about comptech here (the us accord is the acura tsx):

http://www.comptechusa.com/

and the guy's ebay store is here:

http://stores.ebay.com/Acura-of-Escondido-Parts

to give you an idea my swaybar cost $105 + $62 for shipping (about £90) and it arrived in perfect condition in 5 days. same as my short shifter which cost $42 and $24 respectively (about £35). me thinks an icebox will be next
