Warm Hatch
I should be getting a new car within the next few months, i've already driven the C2 VTS and the Suzuki Ignis Sport. I absolutely love the suzuki even with its slightly uncomfortable driving position but my question is, am I missing anything out??onder2:
It has to be around group 8/9 insurance (or less), handle well and have a bit of muscle down the straights.
I have thought about the fiesta Zetec S 1.6 (petrol), has anyone driven on of these?

Try the Skoda Fabia vRS. I bought one recently, had it REVOed and I now drive around in a diesel doing 42 mpg, and more to the point, I managed 30-70 in 5.8 seconds on the AP22. Nice!

as the above poster says revo it and you have
possibly the best set up in terms of handling diesel hatch, amazing build quality, amazing residuals and a grat looking car too
failing that the new a3, or the seat leon are god too

I would think you could pick up a low mileage fiesta zetec S for around 6k and pocket the rest. I had one 3 years ago and it handled really well, very neutral in the corners. The only down side was it wasnt that quick and the interior is a bit dated by todays standards. However maybe some of that 3k saved could be spent on making it a bit quicker!
Also have a look at the Arosa sport, its not lightning fast but they are quite good fun apparently and pretty reasonable. It might be a bit small though...

I got an Ignis Sport a week or so ago, and despite being 6ft 6 the driving position hasn't had any noticable effects. Good points about the ignis are the engine (6000 rpm and it starts to sing!), chuckability, and economy when you want to be sensible - got 50mpg easy on a run to Bath and back. Bad points are the ride quality over speed bumps (a bit crashy) and thin paint. Got mine for 7.5K but think this deal might be over now - check it out.
Fiesta 1.6s would be a good buy, as you could get a nearly new for decent money - or maybe a Sport Ka (I considered one of these)
Would have gone for the VRS but it was too much dosh.

Go for the Ignis and pocket the difference. I was looking at them a couple of months ago, but my priorities have changed...
Are they a limited run model?
Mike - If your're midlands based, theres a yellow one on the Auto Trader web site for £5999 and 2.3k miles (I think)
The only thing I couldn't quite get round was the image - I guess you're a braver man than me!
