Anyone advise on what if anything can be done regards getting a second key made up for my sisters citreon picasso, she lost the key at xmas time and it never did turn up !! so having only the one key now she obviously wants a second one cut incase the obvious does happen again !!

she tried the usual key cutters ( shoe shops etc ) but seems the key cant be simply copied and it is only the citreon garages themselves who can copy this type off key, dont exactly know how much it is going to cost as she hasnt checked with them yet ?? but believe it is not cheap and have kindly passed this info on to her ??!!

believe it is because the key contains a chip for the alarm systmn that requires this reprogramming hence cost ??

anyone advise on just if there is indeed an alternative cheaper solution to this ?? will then pass on to her.

any advise would as always be much appreciatted.

I might be wrong but My old Y reg Picasso came with a "scratch card" type of thing which was to be used by the dealer when dealing with lost keys / immobiliser problems .....!!

I think this has a code under the scratch panel which is needed for a new key but I might be completely wrong
