Default Tuning a 350Z?

Ok - not a car for me - (I have 2 Scoobs!) - just a bit embarassed if I cant help a friend out with exact parts and who to go to, etc

Friend wants an extra 20-30bhp

I suggested full decat exhaust and filter - should give this alone on a 3.5 litre as the CAT will be a big restriction

I reckoned Nismo FULLY DECATTED exhaust - but does anyone officially supply/fit the Kit in the UK and does he really need a remap to be safe - who and where from?

I looked at Abbey Motorsport website but just really for Skylines...........

He won't get an easy 20-30bhp from that engine. In fact most breathing mods won't do much. My mate runs http://www.350zuk.com, biggest UK Zed forum, and did both to his and his torque was coming out lower than standard cars, and only a smidge more power. Sounded class though.

Head over to his webby, all his/your Q's will be answered over there

Thanks

I always thought that backpressure and hence loss of power was a big problem caused by the CAT on a larger litre engine - certainly is on a TVR!

If you do manange to get another 20bhp then you probably wont feel it anyway, its a very small power increase to make any real difference in real world driving.

Bolt on a supercharger and get some real gains !

im 100% an mitsu evo lancer faithful but i have to say the 350z has to be one of the best ever cars if i had a choice for another car this would be it

alot of things u can do

get a turbo conversion, steel rods and custom pistons

a turbo to make up to 700 bhp or even more if u wish.

torque will be amazing its a big engine

and intercooler, ecu and exhaust systems and basically alot of stuff u can do

the other choice is to fit a skyline gtr engine and a 4 wd system and then tune it to 800 bhp, i doubt any car will come close in a drag strip

surely it would be cheaper and more useable to get Nitrous Oxide. On/off useage etc.
Even cheaper still, learn how to exract the most from the chasis and brakes from a driving course.
