I went from a V40 T4 to a Passat PD130 .... no regrets, apart from missing the Volvo seats which are the best I've ever experienced. The T4 was also taxed very high under the new emissions-based company car rules.
The Passat is just as quick as the T4 in any real-world road condition ... and there's a bit of a difference in MPG too

Chiark,
Walk away from the BMW loud hailer, put down the BMW version of the bible and put on this nice coat [hands Chiark straight jacket]. Don't worry Chiark, you'll get good care where your going.......

To quote villan from Jean Claude film 'Double Team' There are two of them!!! Arrrrrrgggghhhhhh [Runs screaming]
Oh and, to do 502miles I would be on my third tank of fuel. Nearly forgot, Chiark, put the BMW Derv drum down. No more banging for you for a while. [Takes BMW drum from chiark]

I've just bought a Fabia vRS too (silver 04) - seen you on Briskoda !!
Moving down from a Merc C43 AMG which I got after my STI Type RA. Looking forward to a small car again to be honest. Picking it up next week.

Blimey, you'll be your bank manager's best friend
For 500 miles, I'd have been into my third tank too in the WRX. But, at the moment, I don't need a drum of diesel , so you can take it away

Fabia VRs = Fun and frugal!
Had ours for 13 months now and loving it. 50mpg average and serious acceleration through the gears which makes certain car owners you are going past sit up and think .. "what the hell was that?!!?".
Great car!!!
