New Civic Diesel
Hi All
Thinking of getting a new Civic Diesel for a company car. Anyone here got one?. Its either a Civic or a Focus, just interested in peoples views.
Cant justify running the scoob as an everyday car.

We test drove the Civic diesel when we were looking for a car for my wife. I quite liked it, but my wife didn't. Comparatively speaking it was a crude engine tho... We ended up with the 1.6 petrol

If it's a new Focus with the new PSA/Ford 2.0 diesel then you shouldn't even think about getting the Civic.
If you are considering an old Focus with 1.8TDCi then I would say try both and see how you get on.
Have driven all three and would still pick either Focus over the Civic.
Have not driven the new Focus with the 1.6 Diesel engine yet though so couldn't say how well that performs.
Cheers

Yes the civic diesel is pretty awful to be honest, i know this only too well as i work in a honda dealership!
I'd go for a 1.6 petrol civic, it costs a grand less than the diesel, still gives 43 to the gallon and will be better built and have way better residuals than the focus.

...or try a Seat Leon Cupra 1.9tdi.
I did and was very impressed with it's performance....and loads of torque....and you will get at least 45mpg.
