Do any Jap cars have any style & class?
As above? I can't think of one.
And why are Jap performance cars mainly driven by younger people? Cheap way to go fast?
..or maybe the 2 are linked and while young people buy them, they will chav them up and reduce the overall sytle "Image" they had....

Jap cars certainly have style.....look at the Mazda RX8, mitsi Evo, RX7, supras(in their day) etc etc..all were bold and wernt afraid to be different.....
But class....which car does have class these days?.....BMW's/Mercs etc are so mainstream, they can hardly be said to be 'classy' with the exception of the top end models....

ermmm...
- Mazdas are quite classy and have nice styling....
- Nissan 350Z is quite stylish
- I think the Scooby legacy is a very classy car (the new one) in and out!

most jap cars are built to do a job and they do it very well.
young people drive them cos they arn't blinded by "Image" snobbery and see the practical side of motoring, not the old fashioned status symbol.......IMHO

Galant 2.5 V6 or even better a Galant VR4
VR4 280bhp 4WD etc etc not cheap to drive as servicing is every 4500 miles
But great fun and looks good IMHO a wolf in sheep's clothing especially the estate
And yes I'm 45 years young

I'm probably going to get slated for having these views BUT.....
I cannot name a SINGLE european car...money no object...that I would choose BEFORE a nice 22B or Evo VI, the exception being a nice Lamborghini Diablo SV
Although...technically aren't Cossies European as they're built in germany or something?
Just my personal tastes, never really liked Beemers - IMHO M3's sound too whiney for my liking - or most european cars besides the odd sexy Italian!
*flame suit within reaching distance...*

Again Accura is just Honda, like Lexus is Toyota
Because a lot of yanks wont buy japanese cars they rename the cars to a posh sounding name put the headqaurters in USA and there you go americans buy them, not the cleverest people in the world.
Off topic but quick example, America has lots of tornados and they get whole towns destroyed by them, why? because they build their houses out of wood, anybody that has read "The Three Little Pigs" knows this is a bad idea, when you see whats left of the houses its just the brick fireplace standing, it doesnt take a genius does it

I certainly can't think of a Jap car I'd call classy, apart from an NSX. A Nismo GTR may be quite "cool", but it's certainly not classy.

Why not name a few classy european cars then we can see where you are coming from and compare? But don't even think of saying Murcielago or Bentley Continental or anything else like that as they are all 10-20 times the price of jap cars so not a fair comparison.
In reply to that i have had several European cars before the Subaru and you're half right. I can afford a European car i just refuse to pay for a car that isn't as quick, useable, reliable, driveable or fun as my scooby. The car hasn't cost me a penny to own other than damage done by other peoples jealousy!
I think they drive them cos they are cheap and theay cant afford a european car.
just a cheap way to go fast.

I'd say certain E36 beemers are classy. An M3 isn't, a 328 Sport is. A C32/43 Merc is, Audi S3/S4/S6 are, 944 turbo, 928GTS, Golf Ltd, 147GTA etc - all around scoob territory. IMO

What's wrong with the "cheap way to go fast" attitude?? Jap cars are generally very reliable.
Maybe in Japan there are some people asking the same question of European cars??
It's called variety and that is what makes the world go round. Everyone has differing opinions on cars don't they.
In answer to question posed on the thread:
Mazda RX7, Nissan 350Z, Supra. Are obvious cars I think are quite stylish - as long as the '2 fast 2 furious' club don't wreck them.

I like to judge a car on it's own merits rather than dismiss it as not classy purely based on the types of people (in some cases) that buy them.
