Default Chassis code verification

I'm looking at buying a car from the United Kingdom. I was able to get the chassis code from the seller, and I would like to where I could verify the car's status? The car is a lancia delta. It would look nice next to my 02 WRX wagon in my snowy Canadian driveway. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I did a search, but I did not find much helpful information.

You need to use a service called HPI, they are able to check all the vehicles details against databases of known vehicles, to establish if its identity is correct, if the mielage is correct, who the current owner is, has the vehicle been an insurance write-off after an accident, if there is any finance owing, etc etc.

You need to get all the vehicles details from the seller, i.e. make model, date of first registration, registration number, chassis number, mileage, colour. Then contact HPI for the search/check. Compare what the seller has provided with what HPI say, if there are any discrepancies, you should probably walk away from the purchase.
