But seriously my dad's Porsche 944 is very ill, the Auto gearbox is making lots of noise, apparently it's been run with very low oil, Porsche said it would be something called a "donut" (which is rubber) in the gear box itself. Imagine my shock with my dad crying on the phone saying how his donut might of exploded and some german wants £600 to put it right!

Anyhoo, just wondering where I might get this item "on the cheap", or "on the second hand", already put a message up in the wanted section... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=392321

If you need parts or a service kit...I can high recommend VMTP in Cannock (Norton Canes). Very helpful guys there.

They also do rebuilds and repairs, but they wouldn't be the cheapest on the planet. £600 sounds about right for a rebuild.

Agree - £600 sounds more than reasonable - quotes I've heard of before are usually 1-1.5k..........
