Drive wise they are every bit as good as the Civic, in fact it should feel very similar. Its a bit heavier obviously, but the steering and ride are good. As an ownership thing, ditto the Civic, very reliable. Economy might suffer a bit, the 2.0i isn't the best. Otherwise it will be a bit slower, but bigger more comfortable Civic.

Had a half-day test drive in exactly that model in 2000. I liked the handling, best "ordinary" saloon-car handling I've tried, really nice steering. Nice feel of quality in the fit & finish.
For my taste the engine needed revving too hard to get a move on ... so I went for a Volvo T4 instead ... handling nowhere near as good and not as good quality but lurve that motor

Thanks chaps, i have been offered this car for £ 3650.00 which seems a bargain, test drove it today. Only downside is it needs a 73K service right now which is the cambelt service and a scuff on the n/s/passenger door.
However it is a good price IMHO.
Will sleep on it...
