Basically a Nissan Sunny with a different body on it. My fiance borrowed one from a friend for a bit. She liked it and she thought it was quite sporty (although this was her first car).

The car has done around 100k miles and the mechanicals still seem to be in pretty good condition.

Cheers.
Adam.

I looked at these before deciding on a mk2 CRX.

I want something sporty, rather than a funky sunroof!!

140PS for the 1800cc! Thatll be quite quick with a power density of 7.93; a single turbo Legacy estate has a power density of 7.2..... and a Classic WRX 'Wagon about 5.68.

I settled with 130bhp from a 1.6 engine, in car the same weight as a shoe box!

Don't know much about them, but used to hate them. Thought they were a Poxhall Tigra equivalent - all looks (which I disliked) and no go.

Sorry for perhaps a pointless post...

Thanks guys, esp. Simon.

I know what you're saying Brendan but to be honest I'm looking at chopping the Saxo in for a Clio 182 and I'm going to need a runaround for leaving in Leeds city centre for work. Looked at these because they're cheap, Japanese (hopefully reliable), not overtly common, not particularly desirable, small 16v engine and light-looking. The 1800 sounds the one to go for but tbh I've only seen 1600's for sale. But at around £1,000 for a 95/96 model with history it seems pretty good.

I've had two of them as company cars when they first came out, well built, reliable, but apart from the quirky roof it's a dull drive, drab interior and a bit gutless (exhaust the size of a peashooter), but you would certainly look forward to getting back in your 182! But for the money they are a good option IMO, I would.

I had one for a year or so and really liked it. OK, it doesn't have the same levels of driver involvement as a modern hot hatch, but it has a willing enough little engine, a decent chassis and good levels of feedback. Make sure you get one of the later fuel injected models - the early ones had a carb-fed version of the same engine which really is gutless.

AFAIK there was only ever a 1.6 in the UK, though there are a few 2.0's around - not sure where they came from.

Pleasure; you wont find an 1800cc though, its a JDM model, all of the UK cars had just over 100BHP.

I had a UK 1992 K reg 100NX 1.6 16v targa sports with 90bhp in gunmetal grey. It was good for posing with the T bar roof but was a bit sluggish to be honest.

You may be right but as far as I know there are only three models: E-FB13 1500cc; the E-EB13 1600c and the E-HB13 1800cc making 94PS 110PS and 140PS respectively. The SR20DE is a popular conversion.

Mine was definitely a 102bhp 1.6 car - earlier models had a carburettor fed version of the same 1.6 engine with a bit less power.

The only UK car was a 1600cc Andy; the SR20DE engine seems to be a popular conversion but according to my reference catalogue there were only the frames that I have listed.

When i was in cyprus back in 1993/4 one of the guys bought one of these (2ltr) from the nissan dealer in Larnaca. Lovely car (in red) and moved, put the 1.6's to shame really.

The 2ltr was actually classed as the Nissan 100NX GTi.

I wonder if it was an export-only model then? Its reassuring to know that it isnt just Subaru who import a restricted poverty-spec model range for us!

There wasnt ever any doubt over the UK model; it was the JDM and other export market models.
