What car would I need to get to........
This is my current problem:-
My best mate has just taken delivery of of a new Suzuki GSX1000R, and believe me when I say this thing is seriously quick. To give an example, 85mph in 2nd gear:-0 !
Now, I am currently in the market for a new car, and as I am no longer doing any serious business mileage, I thought about something a little more interesting.
Before you all say it, I know I will never be able to get a car to do 85mph in 2nd (nor would I want to), but does anybody have any suggestions on what might give this bike a run for its money, and how much it is likely to cost.
The thought of him telling me one more time how quick his bike is, is starting to drive me up the wall.
Help

Bikes are faster in a straight line than cars, unless you have silly money to spend. If you don't, your best bet is probably a bike-engined Westfield or some other super-lightweight.

EASY..MACLAREN F1 OR KONIGSEGG

As Andy said Lighter is better and fitted with 1300 hyabusa engine etc or otherwise serious money and BHP required to overcome weight but you surely didn't buy a bike for straight line speed ?
A Mitzy FQ340 or Scoob Spec C won't beat a 1000cc bike in a straightline but would be close in times around 'B' roads and maybe twistier A's, with significant less risks to the Car driver. IMHO
Not trying to start a '***** length' Topic, just trying to be realistic.

Cheers for the info guys, I especially liked the weather report one.
I think the Mac F1 / Lambo or Konigsegg will be too large for the garage (if only) !
The thought of actually getting a bike myself has crossed my mind for about 1 nanosecond. They frighten the living crap out of me !
On a serious note, how much would I need to pay for a decent bike powered car, say with a Busa engine ?
Cheers

Some cars can do a pretty good job of staying near bikes but get yourself a ride on a decent 1000 and you'll see what all the fuss is about. My R1 makes 148bhp at the back wheel and it makes me laugh my head off when I open it up

Come on guys, It is NOT important to do 85mph in second, and I never said it was !
All I was trying to explain was how quick his bloody bike was, and to try to come up with some ideas on how to wipe the smug grin of his face.
Any other ideas then ?
