Cars with switchable pax airbags?
We are looking for a family hack. We have an Audi A3 Sportback 2.0T on order, it was supposed to turn up next week, but dealer has just found out that they ordered the 2.0TDI in error, and my 2.0T won't be around till late January now....bit of a pisser as it was ordered 2 months ago
Anyway, considering just cancelling and going with something else, but wife really wants something that she can switch the front airbag off in..
Known brands:
Audi ( grrrrrr)
Porsche (got one )
VW (wife doesn't like golf though, more )
BMW
But is there anything else? Really pissed off as the 22B is getting much more grunt work than we like (supermarket runs etc) so need replacement ASAP, Nicki doesn't like using the 911 as it gets too much bad attention (jealous f*ckwits never let it out at junctions, always wanting a race etc...much worse than a scoob)
The Forester we were running has already gone in anticipation of it's replacement
Rgds

Hey Chuck.
If you want to stick with a VAG, all current models of the Ibiza and Leon have switchable pax side airbags.
Any way, what's wrong the trac'or version of the A3?

sounds like you already have most cars that are on the market. lol
I think the Seat Leon ( Cupra or Cupra R ) have switchable airbags, good cars, pretty quick etc and not too bad on fuel or insurance.
P.S
If i was buying a new car and they gave me a date for delivery, and then they said they cocked it up............. i would get a further discount or cancel the order and go elsewhere.

Well now it looks like the dealership are going to make it worth my while to wait for the 2.0T, so all's well that ends well. The 2.0T is an FSI and I'm far more keen on that than the 1.8T that the Leon's are still running with, but saying that I wish I'd thought of Seat in the first place as the costs are soo much lower...especially on a used one...damn, wifey really wants the Audi now though (snob).
Cheers much,
Chuck
