P1 for a Golf gt tdi
Actively thinking of sellling my P1 now and getting something more frugal. Top of the list is the Golf GT TDI. I'm looking at 1998 ish model with 110 bhp. £5500-£6000. Reason being I'm a bit fed up or the running costs, and considering I'm doing a motorway commute most of the time it's a bit pointless having the Subaru.
I have read that on all the VW SEAT SKODA diesel engined 1.9s of that age has a problem with the turbo cutting out and to run properly again, the engine has to be restarted. Any other problems?
Anybody with a gt want a P1?

i was going to do the same but found a mint 2001 ex fleet passat tdi 130 sport fully loaded for £7700.
Having tested both the Passat is much the better looking, handling and specced car and the pd130 can be revo'd to nearly 300lb/ft for £500 and still get 50mpg.
6-speed box also.

i came from a 1998 gt tdi 110 to a P1. if that'll do. i had no problems with the golf and i put 11000 miles on it in 6 months and they were 11000 very hard miles!!!!!! , if i change i will probebly go back to a golf gt tdi but it will be a 150bhp cause they are awesome.
ps i no what you mean about the running costs on average it takes £100 a week in fuel alone
