A mate's just bought a '95 Mondeo 2.0 GLX as a cheapy runaround, anyone know when the cambelt needs to be changed?

Think it's 70k, but it's almost a ten year old car so might be worth doing it earlier?

Ta -- he's buying it off a supposedly fastidious mate, so I've told him to check the service history, and get it done if he can't find a receipt ....

I can't remember the interval, can check at work 2moro but if he does get the belt done it will most likely need a tensioner and spring...Ford didn't fit the spring in the factory so you have to do it when you do the belt

It is a 60,000 mile interval. You should use a cambelt kit (part no. 1112530) as if you just replace the belt and it fails Ford will not pay for repairs. If the kit has been fitted and a failure occurs they usually will.
