When did the 1.8T GTI go from 150ps to 180ps?

Also, any other significant changes in spec during the lifetime of the 1.8T GTI? Did they all get the Recaro seats? Was air-con standard? What about a CD player?

I believe that they offered the 1.8t with 180bhp in its final year ( 2003 ), however it was still available with 150bhp. Air con, recaro seat and cd was standard aswell.

Recaros were dropped from standard spec around 2000 (mine was a 1999 and had them).
They were still available in leather as an (expensive) option though. As has been said, 150 and 180 bhp cars were available alongside each other.
