Just got me a 530i sport
#5
Averages about 29mpg
Must be a later shape one then cos the older ones are horrendous on fuel, in fact even a 320i doesnt do 29, think ou may be in for a shock !

I've got a 2001 530i Sport ... lovely car
0-60 was officially timed at 6.8 (in the wet ) !
I get 29.4 MPG according to OBC ... better than my RB5 used to manage, and almost as quick

Got 500 miles cruising at 80mph on a 70 litre tank.
Used to get 250 miles out of my 50 litre tank in my WRX.......and that was cruising too.....pathetic.

Jacko- your right about the 320i.....i used to have one and seriously underpowered for the weight of the car. Always felt the engine, even though was smooth, was working too hard.
But you will be surprised if you have a 528i + as the power is enough to haul the car around without straining.
The 540i is however a real gas guzzler.....looking at 20mpg average.

Just sold my 540 used to get 22 average but i do quite a bit of motorway driving.
At forty on a flat road the car would idle along at 1500rpm and give 35mpg!!!!! Didn't do much of that tho
