Default If you bought a car on looks alone, what would you have?

OK so they all cost the same amount. They all go the same speed, same MPG etc etc etc, and you buy on looks alone what would you have?

Ferrari 360 challenge stradale for me i think.

Zonda / F50 / lambo /maccy F1 / carrera GT.......all bloody ugly in my eyes. Noble also looks awfull in the flesh parked next to a 360.

Yep unless someone reminds me of something else its the 360 Stradale for me.

I initially wrote the aston under the 360 and then scrubbed it out again. Good call though

355, but with 360 CS wheels ... hmmm or a 1973 2.7RS, damn which do you like best , rari or porker? Porker or rari? arghhhhhhhhhh I'll just take an AC Cobra down the coast of California whilst I ponder that one.

1972 2.7 Carrera RS springs to mind.

Ferrari 355 was nicest before the ugly front end of the 360.

Very few moderns cars can even be considered I think.

I think the problem with the carrera RS in my mind is that it doesnt actually look any different to all the other 911's of the era. Maybe subtle changes but thats it. Its only coz you know what it is and how rare / expensive / special, therefore it must be struck from the list ......... the other obvious reason for it not being allowed is coz winkle suggested it

saw one two weeks ago on the Nurburgring Jasey ....... my comment stands. I think it was conceived from the renault 5 turbo 2 lol ......... Only joking

the red fella on this link still wins for me .....
http://www.nurburgring.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1280
I hasten to add it won when the piture was taken coz about an hour later it was converted into a whole heap of parts on the side of the track.

I cant decide between any of the modern examples (although i'm not a fan of the new Scaglietti).

I think our judgement is clouded by the fact that we know all these are fantastic cars (Rarri, 911, Aston etc). Show a 911 RS Carrera to my mum, and she'd think it was an ugly old beetle. The true test is "are these items gorgeous in the eyes of design brilliance alone" such as say Concorde, a Bang and Olufson phone, the Tube Map, the Le Cruset Corkscrew, a Rolex Oyster or whatever. I don't think you'd get a GT Turbo to qualify in a million years. Aston DB9/Vanquish, Ferrari maybe, but very few modern cars would be up there.

I'm not a big fan of modern, mega buck supercars. Most of them look overdone, and would look like an idiot driving one of those of the road... Miura or Dino would probably get my vote. But then again, I love the looks of retro 80's/early 90s Japanese cars, too... FC3D, Mk1 MR2, AE86, R32, Sileighty, etc

Or a C-Type Jaguar... Been round Castle Coombe in one of those approaching 130mph when I had an epiphany - Something to do with realising I was sat in a little leather bucket seat with no seat belts and was holding onto a chassis rail to keep from falling out during cornering.

"Again! Again!"
