Default Classic VW sales/specialist

I already know about Volkswizard anyone know of any more? I fancy a mint MK2 Golf Gti and all the ones I see on Autotrader look rubbish.
In fact what I really want is a MK2 G60 Limited (the one with the 16V G-Lader engine), if anyone has one for sale then PM me!

Good luck finding a Golf Limited, think there were only 75 or so made
For those who don't know they were 4wd 1.8 16v supercharged but in a standard 5 door Mk2 Golf shell and was the most powerful production Golf made until the R32 came along.

Think they still go for about £9k odds.

I bought mine from Mark at GolfsGalore. Also try VolksDragon for some Mk1 action.

Also worth a look at the Club GTI Classifieds section, and also over at Awesome GTI Store where they have a cars for sale bit.

G60 Limiteds do come up for sale from time to time. Of the 72 built, 2 were 3-door cars (one of these exists in the VW Museum apparently, and the other was a one-off customer car that was subsequently crashed), of the remaining 70 5-door cars there are supposedly 4 in the UK with the rest either crashed or dotted around Europe!

I presume you have seen the ultra-rare 5-door G60 Syncro (with A/C) that Volkswizard are offering? I have lusted after one of these for years. If it wasn't for just having purchased a house I would buy it in a split-second.

Yes, I've seen the G60 LHD and while it's tempting I really want a 3 door this time round (had a MK2 before but a 5 door). Thanks for the links I'll keep looking.

Amazing what a bit of digging can uncover. Between your links and some committed (committed is the word, I must be made wanting a ltd!) searching I've now found 3 limiteds for sale!

One in the UK with very low miles for €12000 or thereabouts (£8K)

and two in Germany for €8000 and €12500 respectively. Now to see if they are still up for grabs!

Result!

From what I recall 2 of the UK based Golf Ltds are owned by one guy and his partner (I have photos of these at home), and the 3rd was (maybe still is?) owned by the guy running R&A Design in Grimsby and was rather souped up. Think the final one is up in Scotland somewhere?

I did have an email address for a German guy who was running a Golf Ltd register. For some reason his website seems to have vanished off the face of the earth?! He was working to trace the whereabouts and ownership of every Ltd built.

Good luck!

A

Story has it that the original owner bought it directly from VW after seeing it on the stand at the London Motorshow. He had it converted to RHD immediately so his wife could drive it!
