Nissan 350Z - Auto Express No 1 Greatest Drive 2004.
I was looking at a special summer issue of Auto Express last night that rated the Nissan 350Z as the greatest drive of 2004.
I was fooking livid since 2 guys I work with, who often criticise my STI prodrive, have one.
The WR1 came 10th and the FQ330 13th. Also, which I which I thought suprising, the BM 330cd (6th) beat the CSL (12th).
I've driven one of my colleagues 350Z and it is a nice car, very refined, solidly built, responsive, grippy, handling is superb but its not a patch on my STI Prodrive for raw power!

It may not have the power of a Sti but it looks a hell of a lot better and from what I've read, it the TC is turned off it is a very entertaining drive with excellent RWD handling and crisp turn in. I'd have one in a shot if my circumstances were different.

I think you miss the point, the best drive is not all about the fastest car, there are a lot more factors involved, comfort, ride, handling etc etc....

Why would you be "fooking livid" Surely if you were perfectly happy with your car you'd have no reason to be livid ? Do you secretly wish you'd bought a 350z ?
I recently sold my Impreza and was faced with the dilemma of buying a 25 to 30k car. The new STI 8 was furthest from my mind for several reasons (but I can't be bothered going into them)
You mention raw power - I think you'll find the figures for both cars are pretty much similar. You just don't get that punch in the back that a turbo'd car gives you.
Plus if you drive a 350z you're driving a classy, refined car. Something you could never say about an Impreza...
PS, 350z Gunmetal Grey, GT Pack and Rays alloys coming Dec 8th
