Default Honda Prelude Vtec performance

My mate gave me a good race in his standard '98 HPVtec.I won but must admit it was neck to neck.Mine is a scoob turbo pulling nearly 300bhp and his is 200bhp.
Smart looking thing and goes like hell.I know he drives like a nutter anyway but cant deny that I was impressed.
Has anyone driven one and what do you think of it?

Ive driven one (which is for sale in the sale section) and have to admit it was impressive. If you know how to use the VTEC delivery to its best abilty it goes really well.

had a jdm vtec (197bhp). had a play with an sti7 with a funny twin exhaust conversion, up a 16% hill having rounded a 30mph bend - straight drag. stayed on his ****. he didn't look amused at the top also played with the prelude against my current car rb5 wr sport decat and it suprised the then owner.

also on a straight drag uphill from a 30mph had a blobeye try it on. he had to pull back in after 250 yards of getting no where

Ummm..........so far good reviews! You see he bought his around the same time when I bought my scoob MY99.He payed 7-8 grand for his and I payed 12 grand for mine
So, in compare he has got a bargain of a neat performance car that is a *looker* too.
I still prefer my scoob tho.
Flat four rumble and performace-love it !

much prefer driving the subaru but as you will find there are loads of circa 200bhp fwd cars that will scare you.

Yeah but that's due to the weight advantage you have over the previous owner

i had one as my previous car.

they're a great car. I used to stick with classics no probs in the dry.

a 300bhp scoob should smoke one though - even in the dry. My weighty 04 WRX is quicker.

you can't get as much power down coming out of corners.

they're cack in the wet though.

I did smoke it but as I said before, his HP was competent enough to stick to me backside at times.
Thanks for letting us know they are cack in the wet.
I will have a race with him in the wet next time!
