My friend has one of the first 850 T5R or what ever it was called, he lowered it and put a hoooj Garret Turbo on it (he know has an STI8), and it was a great Stealth fast car. No one ever expected to be embarassed by an old navy blue Volvo! I was quite tempted to get one myself when I first went in it.

The money it must of taken to do the above though, think there are other - better alternatives!

I though the chassis couldn't handle the power of a standard T5-R let alone a modified one!!!

I always thought they were suppose to be pretty good, that was when Volvo entered an estate car into the Saloon champs wasn't it and everyone made a big fuss about it, and I always thought everyone was very pleasantly surprised by it.

But that's patently overpowered, it shifts all over the place when he tries to put the power down - not good!

I never quite understand why people go to so much trouble to get horses without sorting out the chassis first!? If you got deep pockets, you can make anything go fast..

Lotus did it with a Lada on Top Gear
