Why spend 25K on a Radical?
I'm no expert, but for 8K this looks the bollocks, If I had a garage I'd be arranging a loan instead of typing this..

so, would it show a Radical a clean set of heels?
nice

The reason people spend on a radical is:
1) Road legal. You might not think that's a problem, but if you need to fettle your FRenault, you can't just tear up the bypass in it to check it's fixed OK.
2) Road legal. So it doesn't need a trailer.
3) Two seats
4) Closed wheels. Open-wheeled cars are banned from a lot of trackdays, so you'll have to book a test day instead. Test days are expensive, and you can expect to be blown off the track by people testing F3 and F3000 cars.
5) Easy to change the gear ratios by putting a different sprocket on

Hey, TBH I'd rather get the FRenault than a Radical. It's just that I can see what attracts people to a Radical.
AIUI you're better off with a FFord unless you know how to optimize the wing angles on the FRenault.

Not quite in the same league as a Radical though is it?
And what Radical can you realistically buy for £25k? As soon as you add a few essentials you won't get change from £30k, add some desirables and it's £40k, go full house and it's £50k+

You can get ex F1 cars from the late 80's for this money - where do you stop? Let's be honest, you'd be better off getting a Caterham/Westy and professional driving instruction for £20k. You may go faster in a Clio 182 than a Clio RN, and then faster still in an M3 over a 182, but in open wheel territory it's all driver skill that counts.....

fair comments, it just seems a mega car for the money, I hadn't realised radicals were so expensive anyway, I had it in my head they were about 25K.
I still know which I'd choose anyway
