The twin turbo ones are very quick in 5speed form but they are a heavy car.
The twin turbo auto isn't that much slower about a second i think
The non turbo 24 valve is slow and best avoided
TT 5 speed 0-60 5.7 seconds
TT auto 0-60 6.8 seconds
Non turbo 0-60 8.7ish
a nice rival to the 300zx though and cheap these days..
hope this helps

Not sure where you got your figures from IPKIS, the UK spec 3000GT was only made in twin turbo, manual form.
I have a GTO twin turbo (Jap version of the same car). I have some pictures on Car Domain. Page 1 is the exterior and engine, page 2 is the ICE and nitrous, 3 is the indiglo gauges and 4 is future styling mods.
I'll be running at Scooby Shootout if you want to mosey over and have a nose around the car. Hopefully I'll be running low to mid 12s.

oh dear that was my mistake jumping in quick it was the gto's that were non turbo and auto's
but the figures are based on me and my freind thrashing them so they are on the road everyday figures
he used to import jap cars a few years ago
also the figures are for standard cars not modified

The twin turbo cars are only available with manual gearboxes, the non turbo cars were available with auto or manual gearboxes. 5 speed manuals until '93, when the Mk2 was launched with a 6 speed box. All auto boxes are 4 speed, not very strong, and expensive when they break.

Strange really, as the UK spec 3000GT is the highest spec version. It came with full leather, removeable moon-roof and bigger turbos than the japanese version.
They did make a GTO MR in '95 and '96 though. The MR stands for Mitsubishi Racing, and was a lighter weight version with no ABS, active aeros, 4 wheel steering, cruise control or active aerodynamics. That was a Jap version, and still didn't have the larger turbos fitted to the UK spec car.

always wanted one of these but when my scoob was in a garage there was a 3000gt in as well, decided to have a sit in the leather interiior but guess what im 5ft9" and i had to crouch my head down while in the cab or my head would rub off the roof, the rest of the space in the cabin is 2 plus 2 size and considering the acceleration is well under a scoob but its all about looks and this car looks mint

Just had a look at the performance figures, I thought they would be rapid but on paper not as quick as my Fiat Coupe, the 2000 on version with 320 bhp is more like it. Did consider these but most people put me off with tales of exploding mechanicals and huge bills. Cant imagine the handling is that great seeing as they weigh getting on for two tonnes when laden.
Like the look of them though, reminds me of a Lego Technic supercar I had as a kid.
I suppose they can be tuned to mental levels for not much cash.

Where did you get the performance figures from J4CKO? They stopped making the 3000GT in 1999!
I can't comment on the standard handling, but I have adjustable KYB suspension, which coupled with the 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steering, makes the handling suprisingly responsive.

There are two listed, one for 1992 and one for 2000 with 320 bhp. I suppose 1 year isnt a huge leap though, maybe they had a few lurking in the dealer network ?

Maybe it was one of the very last sold. Some people have quoted figures of 320 BHP for the '94 onwards UK spec cars. Interrestingly though, the picture for the 1992 3000GT is actually a '97-'98 model GTO. The 3000GT body styling was never updated inline with the Mk 3 and Mk4 models released in the US and Japan. The Mk 3 is my favourite though, the hoop spoiler goes much better with the car than active spoiler.

i've always been under the impression these had too much, not really usefull technology weighing them down. A local importer back home in s.wales was bringing them in to the uk 8 years ago or so, he had 2 crashed on test drives round the local b roads. Not enough brakes to slow them for the uk roads.
