Red face Just had a ride in a Cougar

Nice looking car, but did they forget to add a suspension? Far harder ride than the Scoob ever was, even on low profile tyres.
The worst part was the seats. As hard as a park bench and so narrow that the side supports stuck in my back.

Thanfully I was only in it for 10 mins, any longer and I would have been crippled LOL.

Her pet name for the car is the Skip, can't imagine why

Don't have a problem with my mates Rattles a bit, but Fords are supposed to do that.

You seem to forget a scoob is a family 4 door saloon

Question

Must just be me then

Still the most uncomfortable car I have ever been in

Shame she did not let me have a drive in it, it could have been fun on the bumpy back roads

I doubt it - according to most of the "expert pundits" it's chassis was just as bad as the probe

V6 makes a nice noise though

Pity it's a FWD, designed to corner safe (understeer), and so lardy that a mkV XR3 can match the 0-60.

Have you been the back seat yet???? I take you Haven't as you wouldn't be posting here (unless your have a fancy wireless connection while the fire crew cut you out ). OK that's abit OTT, I've been in worse, namely an XK8 - were they designed for people without feet?

Wink

Didn't notice the noise from the engine, having said that, like most women she didn't rev the engine above 3000rpm anyway

The chassis is robbed from the Mondeo, not the P(enis)robe

You need to take the V6 to 4k RPM and beyond for the nice noise. It pulls better from there, too.

Thought the chassis was Mazda-based? The engines certainly are.

The Probe used Mazda V6 engines........... Not too sure about the chassis??

Cougar is basically a Mondeo in a poor attempt at cross-dressing!!

Cheers,
Grant

The Cougar uses the Mondeo chassis with different front arms, and uses the standard 2.0 Zetec engine, and the 2.5 Duratec V6 unit. Both are Ford engines, Not Mazda ones.

(I work for a Ford/ Mazda parts department within a main franchised dealer in Somerset)

Yep, as above Probe and Cougar are totally seperate cars

Probe was shared with the Mazda MX-6

Cougar is a Mondeo in disguise
